Atari Punk Console, Breadboard Version

Here’s a short improvisation on an ‘Atari Punk Console‘ that I’ve built on a solderless breadboard.

The APC name was coined by Kaustic Machines who based the circuit on a schematic by Forest Mims III. It has been built into many different forms as seen >> here <<. Mine needs a casing, will most likely be a mini-lunchbox!

  1. Hi Kieran,
I started making an APC yesterday. I have a question you might be able to answer. I am an electronics retarded, where do the ground connections go? Do they all go to one common point in the board? which? Well, thanks in advance.
How’s the 8bit music going? got anything to show?

    Take care,
    Rabato

  2. Hey Rabato, as far as I understand they all go into one point, just keep it isolated from the rest of the circuit. I sent you on an email with a detailed picture of the circuit I built, hope it helps! No finished tracks yet tunewise, been lazy!

  3. Hey I was wondering if it would be possible to also get a picture of the circuit, I have also been having trouble with mine and I would like to compare your circuit to mine.

    • Hey Elijah, I am going to draw it up in Fritzing as a schematic and will post that up soon, first I have to rebuild the APC from the video, it’s currently missing a few pieces :)
